For the fourth year in a row, Aquent has earned a Best of Staffing Award in both client and talent categories. Aquent was recognized because, based on Net Promoter Score (NPS) data, the majority of our clients and placed talent said that they would recommend us to a friend or colleague. 

We're proud to once again be a Best of Staffing winner, but how did we get here?

Talent, Match, and Service

Our business is relatively simple. Clients come to us because they need experienced digital design and marketing talent. Talent come to us because they are looking for opportunities to work with some of the world's leading companies. 

Both sides of this equation depend on each other. If we didn't have the talent, clients wouldn't be interested in working with us. Without the clients, talent would go elsewhere to advance their careers.

When we look at the NPS data, it is no surprise to find that what clients value most from us is the quality of our talent. But quality always needs a context. That is, the skills and experience of our talent only matter if they closely match the needs of our clients. 

As it turns out, our clients think that the matches we make are strong. I believe this is the result of something else our clients value: the excellence of the service we provide. By taking the time to deeply understand their specific technical needs as well as the idiosyncrasies of their industry and corporate culture, we ensure that the matches we make are solid.

A Positive Talent Experience

Of course, we couldn't make those matches without the talent we represent. But what, in the end, do talent value?

It's not hard nowadays to uncover new career opportunities. The web is filled with them. Indeed, thanks to social media, it's not even that hard to meet or get an introduction to the hiring managers behind the millions of job posts out there. Why go through a staffing agency?

I think it boils down to this: looking for work can be a hassle. If you can make that process feel less like a hassle (and at the same time make it less of a hassle to hire someone), if you can make people feel special and advocated for, then you start to look like a far better option than going it alone. 

That we are able to do this is also borne out by the NPS data, which shows that what our talent ultimately value is the experience of working with us. And what makes that experience so positive, according to them? The helpful and caring people who work here.

People Make the Difference

Ours is a people business. In this highly mediated, always-on world, it can be easy to forget that work happens not because apps are using big data to talk to each other, but because people are helping and serving others by designing and making things.

We like being a part of that. We like helping companies get things done and we like helping people find the work that they are looking for so they can accomplish goals of their own. 

And what I like the most is that, if you have a credit card or a computer or go to a gas station or shop for clothes or walk down the street of any major city in North America, chances are you've seen the work of Aquent talent without even knowing it.
