DATE: 17 June, 2020

Describe your role as Account Director

As an Account Director for Aquent in Sydney, my role is to manage relationships across a mixed portfolio corporate clients, whilst seeking out new business opportunities and partnerships. I work closely with an internal delivery team (Talent Agents and specialists) to ensure the seamless delivery of digital talent solutions to my clients.

What industries and types of organisations make up your portfolio of clients?

I work with large and medium sized corporate accounts which have a strong presence in Sydney. These accounts range across many industries: banking and finance, telco, media, retail, insurance and technology, aviation, etc. I tend to focus on businesses that are currently/about to undergo a digital transformation, where we can be flexible and add value through our digital solutions consulting model — in addition to our traditional recruitment practice.

Why do you love what you do?

I am extremely relationship-driven! For me, I love seeing a relationship grow and develop over time with a client. Getting to a point where I can work closely with them and tailor real, quality solutions for them is a great feeling. In my role, I get to manage and oversee the entire solution-lifecycle with a client, which is incredibly satisfying.

How do you service your clients?

Contrary to popular belief, it's more than just catching up over coffee when we service clients. At Aquent, we deliver valuable content in the way of curating our own digital-specific salary guides where we go to market, collect and collate the data ourselves. We also produce insightful reports following digital talent surveys and we host AMAZING free events for our clients and talent! We offer free online digital courses via our learning platform called ‘Gymnasium' which is great if you're looking to upskill yourself or your team members. Additionally, we offer free ‘Expert Interviewers' for tricky/technical roles that require more vetting. The list goes on!

Describe an ideal client relationship?

One that lasts the test of time! They follow you and you follow them. The relationship is built on trust, honesty and respect.

What are your top 3 tips for hiring managers?

  • It pays to work with specialist agencies like Aquent. With a market that is so fast-paced, project-driven and ever-changing, you really want to rely on an agency that knows what's happening and who the best digital talent are.
  • Please don't view your relationship with us as working with ‘just another recruitment agency'! We pride ourselves in our partnerships that we have built with our clients. We really do strive to deliver exceptional service – we welcome feedback and we hope you'll welcome ours. It's all about transparency and building meaningful relationships.
  • Go on, meet with us for that coffee. It's always worth connecting even if we can't help you right now. In the future, you might need help referring your friend who needs assistance with a really niche digital project, or, help finding a new job.

When you're not working, what do you love doing?

I love creating art! This is my passion!
