Software Engineer - Backend

Job brief 

We are looking for a qualified Software Engineer to join our Engineering team. You will be working with our team to develop and maintain high-quality telematics business applications.
If you’re passionate about backend platforms and databases and translating code into transactional processing systems, we would like to meet you. As a Backend Developer, you’ll collaborate with
internal teams to develop and maintain existing business systems while working in a fast-paced environment.

A blend of the following responsibilities, skills and experience is required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Gather specific requirements analyse and suggest solutions
• Break down and understand issues and design a robust solution effectively with excellent analytical thinking
• Troubleshoot and debug existing code to optimize performance
• Support the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release and support)
• Design transactional systems to improve user experience
• Liaise with the Product Manager to plan new features
• Maintain legacy systems and databases
• Stay up to date with new technology trends

Skills and Experience

• Excellent analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude
• Implementing software designs using
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience with Microsoft focused technology stack including C# and UI framework
• Database development skills in SQL Server is mandatory and exposure to other databases will be an added advantage
• Hands-on experience with MS Azure, JavaScript, HTML, etc
• Experience with consuming and understanding of web services such as RESTful, SOAP APIs, JSON and XML, etc
• System integration experience with back-end transactional systems
• Experience working in agile and waterfall development methodologiesAbility to excel and perform in a team environment
• Exposure with Python coding will be an advantage
• Effective written and verbal communication to communicate at all levels of the business, comprising both technical and non-technical teams
• BSc degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Salary - $100k per annum inc super
