Job Description:
My client, a service provider in the education industry, is seeking a Project Manager to join them on a permanent basis.
This organisation’s key objective is to enhance its impact on Australia’s education landscape by contributing to improved student outcomes, enhanced teacher impact and stronger school communities.
The Project Manager (PM) acts as the interface between internal and external clients and development teams. The PM will effectively supervise the delivery of projects, supervising staff to deliver the project requirements, on time, within budget and to high-quality standards.
Ideally, the PM will also bring conceptual design thinking skills into the role to ensure quality and provide value to the digital projects that they manage. The PM may have up to 3 projects to manage during the contract duration.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Ensure the timely delivery of project deliverables
- Providing key stakeholders with accurate high-quality information
- Maintaining and developing important relationships with all stakeholders, including documentation and managing project accountability
- Manage budgets and timelines to achieve targets
- Manage effective communication with other business units
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for projects through effective management of development and content specialists
- Work with team members to share knowledge, skills and tools
- Proactively monitor all resources to ensure deadlines are met
- Identify potential areas of improvement, and provide advice on project enhancements
Ideally, you will have:
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to meet strict deadlines for reporting, development, and delivery and effectively manage project budgets
- Previous experience in managing web/digital-based projects, ideally related to delivering content
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to produce clear written documentation and reports
- Ability to manage relationships with stakeholders and operational teams
- Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines
- The ability to apply project management methodologies, such as Prince2 or other project methodologies and supporting tools to ensure there is structure to achieve project deliverables and governance
- Proven ability to work with limited supervision to manage projects in a team environment
- A high level of self-motivation and initiative
- An understanding of the education system within Australia
- An understanding of other project management methodologies, such as Agile, is desirable
- Certification in project management, preferably Prince 2 (advantageous)
