My client is a great PR agency who work across the finance sector, with a great reputation and culture, they are looking for an AM to work across their corporate and financial services brands which includes banks, super funds, property, fintech and wealth managers
The Account Manager is responsible for the day to day driving of all tactical activity across accounts, as well as input into the strategic direction of clients. The AM actively manages the spectrum of account activity – acting on their own initiative as well as under direction of the Account Director. This is a varied role and requires flexibility and the ability to manage and prioritise a busy task load.
The AM should have a very strong and detailed understanding of each client they are working on, as well as strong relationships across most levels of the client. They should understand the industry their clients are working in and the factors impacting clients’ businesses. They should learn from their account director; further hone their writing and account management skills; and have a strong industry/media network of their own.
The AM should look for opportunities to further develop their strategy and new business skills including attending new business meetings and drafting proposals / communications strategies.
The AM should also be leading on some projects as practice for the next step to Senior Account Manager – and demonstrate their ability to foster strong client relationships and deliver results without too much input from their manager, but also know when to get input.
The AM may also be responsible for overseeing incoming Account Executives as well as any office juniors.
