Job Description:

Our client is an Australian telecommunications company who is leading the way in consulting and technology. We are looking to hire an Accessibility Consultant to join their Accessibility team.

About the role

The Accessibility document expert, is a highly specialised role responsible for conducting reviews for all their PDFs/ MS Word docs.

  • This role will be a 6 month rolling contract with the view to extend or go permanent.

  • In this role you will be reviewing and analysing all internal/external reports making sure they are meeting accessibility standards. 

  • You will also be providing recommendations to the wider team and playing a large part in creating new policies. 

Your responsibilities

  • Use a customer-centric accessibility focus to advocate for People with Disabilities needs

  • Focus on documents (PDFs, word docs etc)

  • Unlock capability and capacity by advocating the value of accessibility

  • Strong knowledge of W3C Accessibility Guidelines and Standards such as WCAG, ATAG, etc

Skills we are looking for: 

  • Disability awareness knowledge

  • WCAG guidelines and legal regulations knowledge

  • Understanding of technologies used by People with Disabilities (e.g. screen readers and Voiceover)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Skilled in editing PDF documents
