Communications Specialist

Are you passionate about human rights and working with NFP organisations? This is a fabulous opportunity to work with an organisation whose purpose is to end the cycle of poverty and disability.

Responsibilities: 

• Research, interview, write and publish content packages including articles, blogs, tweets and other resources to amplify the organisations three pillars of inclusive development – Advocacy, Advisory and Programs
• Work with colleagues to ideate and plan and produce accurate, targeted and timely content across a variety of topics as required
• Increasing engagement and activation via communication with various audiences via numerous channels, particularly Twitter and third-party media
• Write and produce advocacy EDMs, social posts, case studies and more to achieve objectives and further promote the story of disability inclusive development to existing and new audiences
• Monitor communication plan in consultation with workgroups and individuals across the organisation
• Develop content based on Campaign strategies and work responsively in line with news cycles and identify/reduce gaps to write and develop content
• Manage the Twitter Channel 

Skills and experience required:

• Tertiary qualifications or demonstrated experience in a communications or media related discipline
• Excellent communication and written skills, including strong ability to write at speed for different audiences
• Editing and proof-reading experience
• Ability to negotiate changes clearly and effectively with technical experts, creatives and designers
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience working on and contributing to the management of organisation- wide projects in a cross-functional environment
• Strong working knowledge of Twitter and Digital CMS
• Working knowledge of Canva and Adobe Premier
• Good project management and reporting skills
