Senior UI Designer – Design Systems Focus

• 6-month rolling contract
• $787 + Super per day

We’re looking for a Senior UI Designer who knows design systems inside and out, someone who can build scalable foundations, work closely with engineers, and bring structure to complex digital environments.

This role is part of a major transformation project, rethinking the digital experience for millions of Australian customers. The company is consolidating 25+ customer tools into one modern place, and design is leading the charge.

You’ll be part of a specialist design system squad, laying down the fundamental building blocks that will support a broad ecosystem of products across both authenticated (customer portal) and unauthenticated (marketing) experiences. This is a high-impact role where your work will be reused at scale.

What you’ll be doing:

• Defining and delivering design system foundations – including grids, spacing, colours, typography, buttons, links and patterns
• Building components in Figma that are tokenised, scalable and ready for handoff
• Collaborating with engineers to align on tokens and implementation best practices
• Contributing to the evolution of the company’s digital design language
• Working across squads to support both product and marketing-facing UI needs
• Laying the groundwork for others to create consistent and efficient interfaces

What we’re looking for:

• A senior UI designer with strong experience in design systems
• Deep knowledge of Figma, particularly working with variables and tokens
• Understanding of atomic design and how small components scale into full user flows
• Experience collaborating with engineers on tokenised systems
• Enterprise experience is a big plus — this is a large, complex environment
• Bonus if you’ve worked across both product and brand/marketing-facing systems

This is a hands-on role with lots of collaboration, influence, and opportunity to shape how design is scaled across teams. There’s a long roadmap ahead, and if you’re someone who enjoys building smart, future-friendly systems — you’ll be right at home here.
