Our client, a Fortune 500 software company in San Francisco is looking for a Web Editor!

On-site attendance needed for meetings a few times a week in San Francisco, CA

As part of the Web Experience organization, the Web Editor is responsible for editing and managing content for assigned areas of the client's main website. Responsibilities include editing original content as well as repurposing existing contents. The overall goal is to provide compelling content that engages business and software users, builds the brand, and generates qualified
sales leads. This position will focus on editing content for product centers, as well as other content.

Architectural or CAD background preferred

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Edit and manage content for assigned areas of website
• Build subject matter expertise as well as edit all content for style, web best practices, and SEO
• Work closely with SEO team to integrate key search terms to meet corporate and industry goals
• Ensure that content conveys corporate branding and messaging while also speaking in the appropriate customer voice
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with web marketing managers, marketing team, and various business partners to ensure a strong pipeline for content resources and approvals
• Partner with web marketing managers and web project managers to ensure smooth, on-time publication of content
• Maintain web content guidelines/standards/style guide and ensure they are applied consistently across all projects
• Participate in internal and creative meetings as necessary
• Provide training on web best practices for stakeholders throughout the company and vendor network
• Perform periodic site scrubs for assigned areas
• Other responsibilities as assigned

• 4-year college degree, preferably in English, communications, journalism, or a related area
• 3-5 years professional experience in web editing and/or writing
• Must be able to provide writing or editing samples upon request
• Must be able to pass written copyediting test

Desired Knowledge/Skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in writing and editing high-quality content specifically for web
• Experience in updating and adhering to web style guides and web copydeck templates
• Ability to prioritize work and manage projects on schedule
• Familiarity with web publishing tools, including content management systems, and basic understanding of web page structure
• Ability to interpret analytics and make data-driven decisions and recommendations
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and commonly used web browsers
• Experience optimizing content for SEO
