Describe your role as Account Director?

As an Account Director, I'm the friendly touchpoint between Aquent and different spaces of large corporates. It's my job to get to know the challenges of different stakeholders, build relationships, streamline communications and support businesses with specialist capabilities. I often find business leaders have the strategy in place and we work together to offer our expertise and capability to deliver great digital experiences in-house, on time and on budget.

Most days you'll find my diary booked out with coffee catch ups with clients … really… I'm a professional coffee drinker!

What types of companies do you work with?

I work with a number of large corporate accounts across finance, insurance, retail, tech and energy, and I'm always open to getting to know new clients. These businesses are all at different stages of their digital transformation journey and I work closely with stakeholders across the digital, marketing, creative, development, data and cyberspaces to help support the delivery of their digital strategies.

Why do you love what you do?

I love people. I have always loved meeting new people, getting to know them, understanding their challenges and problems and offering solutions — and luckily I've managed to make a career out of it.

I also really love that Aquent supports our professional growth. Our learning fund enables me to attend the best industry conferences, upskill with digital courses and always keep growing my digital knowledge. I love that aspect of my job!

How do you service your clients?

What's great about my role is that we support and service our clients in a number of ways. Outside of recruitment and consulting services, we produce industry reports, host a number of industry events and offer access to free online digital training courses. Our partners and new clients have access to all of our services and my role is getting to know stakeholders' specific challenges and finding the best solution or combination of solutions for them.

Describe your ideal client relationship

My best client relationships are made up of trust, mutual respect and great communication.

What are your top 3 tips for hiring managers?

  1. Invest in people and culture: invest in training, conferences, events, on-boarding. Build a strong culture and be able to communicate that clearly. With new challenges arising with remote teams and remote on-boarding, it's more important than ever to have a defined culture.
  2. Review your recruitment and on-boarding experience through a CX lens. Treat new talent to the business as customers and ensure everything from initial contact to their first day onsite is a streamlined, efficient experience with clear communication at every touchpoint.
  3. Think of us as partners rather than suppliers.

Outside of work, what do you love doing?

It's probably unsurprising to hear but outside of work I'm super sociable. You'll often find me trying out a new restaurant, hosting a dinner party, having a wee boogie at the weekends or escaping the city in search of gorgeous hikes, beaches and coastlines! I throw in regular runs, reformer pilates and yoga to add a bit of balance – and occasionally I'll draw people in the nude at life drawing class.
