We host free, educational face-to-face events and online activations for digital marketing, creative and development leaders and professionals.
Inspiring and educating the digital community through events and activations.
Throughout the year, we host a variety of free, face-to-face events and online activations for our clients, talent and wider digital community. Our aim is to inspire and provide valuable, educational content that helps people and organisations grow and succeed.
With nearly 1 in 5 people in Australia having a disability, digital accessibility is becoming increasingly important for all businesses with an online presence. In addition, with more people working remotely, many have had to take up digital ways of working and communicating which has been a catalyst for organisations to pay a lot more attention to their websites and digital touchpoints.
At its core, accessibility is about delivering truly inclusive experiences which lead to multiple benefits – improved customer experience, strengthened brand presence, and a reduction in legal risks.
At our #Digitalks webinar, Andrew Miller, Program Director and Jeremy Osborn, Academic Director of Aquent Gymnasium will show you a new way of thinking about accessibility, and will introduce the key concepts behind inclusive design to help your organisation map a path for a more accessible future for everyone.
During the 45 minute presentation, they’ll cover:
Why it’s important for digital content to be accessible
The legal risk of not prioritising accessibility, plus the business opportunities
Why designing for accessibility results in designs that benefit everyone
Who is responsible for accessibility
The most common accessibility problems to address
How to test for accessibility issues
The process to address accessibility for your organisation

Free Digitalks webinar: How to tackle mental health and wellbeing for you and your team
As we adapt to the impacts of 2020, one thing has risen to the top of the agenda — mental wellbeing — a concern that has never been more openly talked about. Business leaders and their teams are feeling levels of stress and anxiety they have never experienced before, and many have colleagues or friends who are struggling to cope.
So how do we check-in with our teams and provide the right leadership and support during these challenging times? One of the greatest rugby union players of all time, All Black legend and co-founder of workplace wellbeing app Mentemia, Sir John Kirwan provided practical ideas and insights alongside his colleague, health psychology specialist Dr Fiona Crichton.
Sir John Kirwan (known to most as JK) was one of the most high-profile rugby players on the planet. But during that time he was hiding a serious mental health crisis. He shared his journey from surviving to thriving, what tools and techniques keep him at the top of his game today, and how these can help you and your team.
In their 45 minute webinar, JK and Fiona covered: - Practical tips on how to check in and support your people in this ‘new normal’ - How to foster a culture of wellbeing in your team - Leadership advice for remote and hybrid work models - The importance of a daily mental health plan and what that means - How digital self-help tools like Mentemia can help (and are already helping staff at leading Australian and Kiwi companies)
UX Australia 2020
For the 5th year in a row, we were proud sponsors of the annual UX Australia conference — which this year was 100% online with presentations and workshops spanning over 4 days.
Monique Richards presented a live demo of our Team Readiness learning platform during the conference where professionals can customise their own UX learning journey. Plus we ran a competition for 10 lucky people to win 3 months free access to our training platform.
Monique and Rosie McAlister, our Melbourne Talent Agent also presented a workshop for Women in UX in partnership with UX Australia called "Reclaim your power - influence your future".

In today’s fiercely competitive environment, businesses are fighting to stay relevant and financially sustainable. Brands that ‘win’ cut through the sea of sameness and embrace the new ‘consumer era’. They think short and long-term, and have dispelled the ridiculous belief that brand marketing and sales are mutually exclusive.
In this 45 minute presentation, Matt Allison, MD of Ubiquity Lab detailed how to: Capture attention and monetise it; Better leverage owned and earned activity to extend your paid spend; boost marketing effectiveness by seamlessly integrating paid, owned and earned ; unlock emotional territories that drive salience and differentiation; build deep connections to earn trust and win the hearts of your customer; develop insights that are a reference for everything you do – from briefing creative agencies, informing SEM, writing social copy and mapping customer journeys; and embed mid-term strategy and short-term tactics to ensure you win now and in the future.
