Describe your role as Senior Account Director

As an Account Director at Aquent, my remit is managing the overarching relationships across a portfolio of my Tier 1 Corporate clients. My passion lies in developing and nurturing productive professional partnerships and collaborating with clients to utilise our expertise in creating bespoke solutions for major projects and programs of work, all within budget and deadline constraints. At Aquent, I have the pleasure of turning this passion towards the Creative, Digital and e-Commerce Industries.

What industries and types of organisations make up your portfolio of clients?

Primarily Melbourne based, my portfolio spans large corporates within the Banking and Financial services, Telecommunications, Media, Retail, Insurance, Technology and Energy sectors. With partnerships being formed to strategically support these businesses to accelerate their digital growth and performance.

Why do you love what you do?

Wow, where do I start…. There are so many things that make me love what i do!!!

I'm a real people person to the core, I thrive on human interaction, developing relationships and understanding people. So the fact that the core of this role is built on exactly those foundations, is wonderful.  It is an absolute pleasure being able to develop and foster strong working relationships with my clients that in many cases end up feeling more like friendships.

I'm also a very analytical thinker and problem solver, so I love that I can work in partnership with my clients to gain an understanding of their needs, challenges and aspirations and ultimately be part of the solutions and success. It's such a rewarding experience to feel like you have been on a successful journey with them.

I love that I am a part of a community of such interesting industries and specialties and am constantly amazed at all the exciting developments that emerge.

Aquent has such a supportive and close knit culture that it feels more like a family. Aquent continually fosters our professional development through a dedicated Learning Fund, so we can attend industry events and conferences (albeit virtually under the current world pandemic!!), right through to ongoing courses.

I also love that as a company, Aquent takes it very seriously in providing us the means to be a strong support to our clients and network during some very unique times. It has felt really good to become a closer community and support each other whilst waiting for the world to heal.

How do you service your clients?

As a global specialist agency, Aquent has a rich repertoire of services to offer in supporting our client base, as we aim to create dynamic solutions and not a ‘one size fits all'.  At our core is building business partnerships, with creative solutions across recruitment and digital consulting services unique to each client's requirements. As an Account Director my role is to foster, nurture and support these relationships and ensure I truly understand the challenges being faced and the vision of the client so I can assist in delivering proven business solutions.

As we believe it is essential to be dynamic in our approach, we support, develop and curate industry events, webinars, podcasts, meetups, industry reports, annual Salary guides and free online digital courses via our learning platform ‘Gymnasium'

Describe an ideal client relationship?

An ideal client relationship for me is one that is built on strong communication with honesty, trust, respect and transparency. One that forms a true partnership between both parties and creates authentic successes.

What are your top 3 tips for hiring managers?

  1. Consider Aquent your partner rather than just a supplier. The more collaboratively you work with us the greater the results. It allows us to gain a full understanding of who you are as a client and what you require.
  2. Understanding and reviewing your Recruitment and Onboarding processes to ensure these are streamlined and supportive.
  3. Invest in your people and your culture, these are after all your representatives.

When you're not at work, what do you love doing

I love travelling and chasing the sun. This globe has so many beautiful corners, but I would have to say give me a beautiful beach anywhere and I'm happy. Favourite corner of this world would have to be the Greek Isles, and waking up to views like this…

Although all travelling being on hold at the moment given our current state of global pandemic and lockdown, has given rise to virtual wanderlust lol!!!

Closer to home, as I am a very social being,  a good catch up with friends and family over dinner or drinks is always food for my soul. I love getting back to nature with a spot of gardening or heading into the mountains or for beach walks. I also love to get creative, being an avid photographer and amateur painter. Lastly, I absolutely love to bake and current lockdowns have made me a master chef!!!
