I’m working with a fast-growing ecom brand that’s expanding into a new category. We’re on the lookout for experienced Category & Product Development Managers who want to take ownership of this.
The business is in the Baby category and expanding into Nursery. You don’t need to have specific category experience as long as you have strengths in developing physical products in an e-commerce environment and a passion for Kids or Babies. It’s a newly created, full-time role in the inner west of Melbourne, offering $140-160k + Super, WFH Fridays.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with the Founder & Head of Product to take ownership of this brand new category for the business
- Source, develop, and launch high-impact products that make parents’ lives easier.
- Manage market research, pricing, and feasibility to ensure maximum profitability.
- Work directly with manufacturers to bring prototypes to life.
- Act as the final sign-off on all testing, quality control, and certifications.
- Juggling multiple priorities and working to tight deadlines
Requirements:
- Experience in product development or category management, specifically taking products from concept to market in an e-commerce environment
- Experience working with manufacturers and overseas suppliers.
- Ability to balance creative design with a commercial mindset
- A self-starter who’s autonomous and comfortable in a small, hectic online retailer
