Join the Digital Experience & Marketing team to help manage one of Australia’s largest and most complex web presences. With over a million public webpages and a weekly traffic volume exceeding one million sessions, this role is critical to maintaining a world-class digital experience.
As a CMS Developer, you will focus on the continual improvement of web publishing platforms, specifically the Squiz Matrix CMS. You will bridge the gap between technical implementation and stakeholder needs, ensuring the platform remains scalable, user-friendly, and aligned with modern digital standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Platform Development: Lead the technical implementation of new CMS functionality, components, and templates.
- Digital Excellence: Design and configure system improvements to handle significant scale while upholding technical excellence.
- Strategic Collaboration: Act as an expert advisor to stakeholders on leveraging CMS page templates to achieve communication goals.
- Agile Integration: Participate in daily agile rituals, contributing to product innovation from ideation through to implementation.
- Continuous Optimization: Use platform data and emerging tech trends to optimize workflows and system performance.
- Documentation: Maintain essential change logs and technical documentation to support a high-performing web community.
Selection Criteria
Essential:
- Squiz Matrix Expertise: Proven experience designing and developing complex solutions within the Squiz Matrix DXP environment (customisation, asset management, and template creation).
- Front-End Proficiency: Deep knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a strong command of responsive design principles.
- UX Focus: A track record of building intuitive interfaces that simplify the content editing process for non-technical users.
- Problem Solving: Advanced analytical skills to identify root causes in complex technical environments and implement standardized solutions.
- Communication: Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear language for stakeholders at all levels.
- Agile Experience: Comfort working in collaborative, iterative environments with high-level organizational and prioritization skills.
Desirable:
- Experience implementing WCAG Digital Accessibility Standards.
- Familiarity with integration of third-party web services (APIs).
- Experience working within a Digital Design System.
- Proficiency with web analytics tools to inform system optimisation.
- Previous experience in the Higher Education sector.
