We are representing a premier retail leader in their search for a Full Stack Engineer to join a high-impact squad in Melbourne. This team owns a flagship mobile platform used by over a million customers daily. At this scale, the code you ship is seen and felt by the Australian public immediately.

The Squad & The Tech

This is a true full-stack environment where “moving between layers” is the daily reality. You will work across a modern, unified codebase that powers a seamless experience across iOS, Android, and Web.

• Frontend: React Native, React, TypeScript
• Backend: C#, .NET, Node.js, Bun
• Cloud: Azure (Infrastructure as Code)

The Role

As a Full Stack Engineer, you are a software craftsperson. You will work closely with a Principal Engineer to deliver secure, performant features in a high-traffic live environment. You’ll take full responsibility for what you build, from the first line of code through to production.

Key Responsibilities:

• End-to-End Ownership: Develop and deploy features across backend, frontend, and cloud layers.
• Infrastructure as Code: Build and maintain Azure infrastructure with the same quality bar as your application code.
• Collaboration: Work within your squad to translate requirements into elegant, well-scoped solutions.
• Operational Excellence: Participate in on-call rotations and advocate for security and performance.
• AI Integration: Apply AI tooling in your day-to-day work to improve speed and quality.

What We Are Looking For

The Essentials:

• Full Stack Proficiency: Professional experience across backend, frontend, and cloud infrastructure.
• Azure Fundamentals: Hands-on experience with networking, compute, and storage.
• Core Stack Skills: Proficiency in at least one backend language (C# or Node.js) and one frontend technology (React/React Native) from our stack.
• Autonomy: A self-motivated engineer who reasons from “first principles” and manages work without heavy direction.
• Clear Communication: Ability to articulate technical problems and solutions clearly to the team.

The “Strong Signal” (Nice to Haves):

• Experience with Terraform or Bicep.
• Mobile development experience (React Native, Swift, or Kotlin).
• Comfort navigating large, complex organisations where influence matters as much as technical skill.
