Lead Experience Designer (Information Architecture Specialist)
30-Day High-Impact Project | Large Education Provider
Are you a master of making the complex feel simple? We are looking for a heavy-hitting Lead Experience Designer with deep expertise in Information Architecture to spearhead a critical 30-day sprint.
This isn’t a “business as usual” role we need someone who can land, align stakeholders and start delivering value on day one.
The Mission
Our organization manages vast ecosystems of digital content and learning pathways. We need a Lead Designer to audit, restructure, and optimise our information environments to ensure students and staff find exactly what they need, exactly when they need it.
What You’ll Do
- Stakeholder Diplomacy: Quickly build rapport with diverse stakeholders (from academics to product owners) to extract requirements and navigate organizational complexity.
- IA Architecture: Develop robust site maps, taxonomies, and navigation models that scale.
- Rapid Prototyping: Translate structural ideas into low-fidelity wireframes or user flows to validate concepts in real-time.
- Strategic Advisory: Provide expert recommendations on how to bridge the gap between our current messy reality and a streamlined future state.
Who You Are
- The IA Expert: You don’t just “do” UX; you specialise in the bones of the experience. You understand how people categorize information and how to design for findability.
- Lead-Level Presence: You’re comfortable leading workshops, challenging assumptions politely, and driving a room toward a decision.
- Sprint-Ready: You have a proven track record of delivering high-quality work within tight, fixed-term windows. You don’t need hand-holding; you need a goal.
- Education Enthusiast: (Bonus) Experience in the Higher Ed or EdTech space is a major plus.
