Questions you should ask at the end of a job interview

Remember, interviews are a two-way street. You're interviewing the hiring manager just as much as they're interviewing you.

7 questions you should ask at the end of a job interview

One of the key questions I suggest you ask is:

“What does this job look like on a day-to-day basis?”

It's really important to get a good understanding of what the job will look like on a normal day. This will definitely help you in your decision-making.

“What would  some of my key tasks and KPIs be?”

Asking this question is a great way to dig a little bit deeper and set yourself up for success when/if you get the opportunity.

The next one I would ask is about career progression.

“Where do you see this role going in the future after six to 12 months?”

This question is a great way to find out what's important to the company and if their future plans align with your values/goals.

“Is there a succession plan in place and what might that look like?”

It's always great to know if the company values succession plans and is going to support you in getting your next promotion.

I also think it's interesting to turn the interview around and ask the interviewers this question:

“What attracted you to the business and what's made you stay?

It's great question to find out a little bit more about the culture and why people enjoy working with the company.

And the next one I would go into is about values.

“What are the core values of your business and how does the team bring them to life?”

The last one is about longevity and sort of where the business is going. So I would ask,

“In five years time, or even 10 years time, where do you see this business going? What are some of your key areas of growth?”

The answer to this question could be extremely vital in your decision-making process. It will give you insight and hopefully a high-level overview of the growth strategy and the future plans of the business.

Obviously, you're going to have your own style and your own questions that are important to you, so just remember to write them down and don't forget to ask the questions at the end because it definitely gives you some insight into the business you may be joining.
