What's your role at Aquent?

I'm the Marketing Director for Aquent in Australia

What does your role involve, day-to-day?

My work varies every day and because there are only two of us on my team in Australia, I'm pretty much involved in all things marketing — whether strategic or execution. This can include digital marketing, content marketing, social media marketing, event marketing, brand development, email marketing, copywriting, design, training and more.

What's your favourite part of your role?

I really enjoy mentoring and helping others. I like to hire people in my team who are hungry to develop their career and their digital marketing skills, and have an innate sense of curiosity and an amazing positive attitude. I love to help them to grow in their role and achieve the goals they've set themselves.

What gets you excited about your work?

I love seeing the results of our marketing initiatives — good or bad, but obviously I love great results! And the beauty of digital is that everything is trackable and measurable.

Why do you love what you do?

I love variety and I love to learn new things (it's that curiosity thing again). And in digital marketing, there is so much to learn to keep up, so there's never a dull moment and I never find myself sitting at my desk thinking that I have nothing to do. I'm very self-motivated, and I'm always trusted and supported to try new things and to stretch myself, whilst adding new strings to my bow.

Describe Aquent's team culture

There's so much to love about Aquent's team culture. Unlike many recruitment agencies, everyone works together towards a common goal, rather than competing against each other (unless it's something fun like our Masterchef comp or to see who can do the longest plank).

We work in a very casual environment where everyone is very friendly, helpful and fun. They leave their moods at the door and bring their enthusiasm to their job and to their team. All ideas are valued, the door is always open (not that we have doors, but you know what I mean — everyone is accessible). Our teams all embody our four values, which I value greatly and live by as well:

I'm also able to work flexible hours and remotely which is super important to me.

What's not to love?

When you're not at work, what do you love doing?

I try and leave my work behind me as much as possible after hours and on the weekends and encourage anyone who works with me to do the same.

I love nothing more than to pack a picnic and coffee flask and hop on our runaround boat on the Sydney harbour and discover new, remote beaches or bays with my husband, daughter, and Mini Schnauzer Roxy.

I also love going to the beach, bush walking, discovering new restaurants (big foodie) and drinking organic red wine or single malt whiskey.

As Marketing Director for Aquent in Australia, I am responsible for our digital marketing strategy and execution. I bring a wealth of local and international experience to the team, including expertise in digital marketing, content marketing, social media marketing, event marketing, brand strategy and development, marketing strategy and execution, PR, sponsorship negotiation and partnerships building, and design. I would describe myself as a self-motivated, results-driven marketer who isn't scared to try new approaches. I really dislike doing things over and over again and expecting a different result. Outside of work, I love good food and drinking organic red wine and single malt scotch. When I'm not eating or drinking, you'll find me exercising with my Mini Schnauzer Roxy, or on my runabout boat exploring the Sydney harbour.
